Searching the Warren County inmate records

Use the ODRC Offender Search to check whether someone is held in an Ohio state prison, including Warren Correctional Institution or Lebanon Correctional Institution in Warren County. The search accepts last name, first name, county of commitment (select “Warren”), residential county, zip code, ODRC number, or current status (incarcerated, released, APA supervision, or violators at large).

2. Enter the person’s last name. Add first name to narrow results.
3. Select “Warren” from the County of Commitment dropdown if you know the committing county.
4. Set Status to “Incarcerated” to filter for currently held individuals.
5. Submit and review results. Each record shows ODRC number, facility, and status.

If you have a booking number from an arrest report or a family member’s paperwork, use it in the ODRC number field for a direct match. Booking numbers for county jail bookings come from the arresting agency’s paperwork, not from the ODRC system. What the roster does (and doesn’t) show

The ODRC Offender Search does not display juveniles adjudicated in the juvenile system, individuals whose records have been sealed under Ohio Revised Code section 149.43, or persons held in federal custody. It also does not show Warren County jail inmates who have not been sentenced to state prison — that population is tracked at the county level, not by ODRC.

The search covers all 88 Ohio counties and can be filtered by Warren County specifically. It shows current incarceration status, facility assignment, and parole board hearing dates where applicable. Released individuals remain searchable; set the Status filter to “Released” to locate someone no longer incarcerated. APA supervision records and parole violators at large appear in separate status categories within the same tool.

A new county jail booking can take time to appear in any online system — and if the person was booked tonight rather than sentenced to state prison, the ODRC database won’t reflect that at all.

If someone was just booked tonight

Call the Warren County Sheriff’s Office — see Sources for the number — to confirm whether someone is in county custody. That’s the direct line for custody questions when a booking is fresh. It’s a long night, and the online tools won’t help you yet.

The Sheriff’s Office Business Office hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, closed on legal holidays. If you’re calling outside those hours, you may reach a duty line for custody inquiries — but our sources do not confirm after-hours staffing for general custody questions, so call and ask what’s available. That uncertainty is frustrating but normal at this hour.

Bond is not set until a first appearance before a Warren County judge. Calling tonight confirms whether the person is in custody and may tell you when that appearance is scheduled — not the bond amount itself. The Warren County Courthouse can be reached at (513) 695-1228 during business hours for case information. That part — waiting for the first appearance — is the hard part.

Visitation is not available the night of booking. Facilities set their own schedules, and access typically begins the following day at the earliest. For Warren Correctional Institution specifically, visitation requires advance scheduling at least three days out. Plan to call the facility directly in the morning to ask about access. Why might someone not appear in the ODRC search right now?

A new booking at the county jail won’t appear in the state system at all — ODRC tracks sentenced state prisoners, not pre-trial county jail detainees. That’s the most common reason a name comes up empty.

• County jail, not state prison: Check with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office directly. County jail bookings are not in the ODRC database at the state prison inmate locator.
• Transferred to a neighboring county: Butler, Clinton, Greene, or Montgomery counties may hold Warren County arrestees under certain circumstances. Each county maintains its own records.
• Federal custody: Federal detainees are held in federal facilities and do not appear in state or county systems. Check the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator separately.
• Already released: Set the ODRC Status filter to “Released” and search again. County jail releases are not reflected in the ODRC tool.
