Tonight, call the (740) 385-2131 — that’s the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office — to confirm custody. That’s the fastest path right now. The line handles custody questions around the clock, not just during business hours.

The online ODRC database will not show a fresh county jail booking. That’s normal and expected. The Sheriff’s phone is the only reliable source for tonight’s custody status. When you call, ask whether the person is in custody and which facility is holding them. That part is the hard part — waiting on hold at 11 PM is nobody’s idea of easy.

Bond is set at first appearance in Hocking County, which typically happens within the first day or two after booking. Calling tonight confirms custody; it will not get you a bond amount yet, because the judge hasn’t set one. Visitation at the Hocking County Jail requires scheduling in advance — visits are not available the night of booking. Plan for that to begin the next day at the earliest.

Morning brings more options. It’s a long night, but the morning steps are concrete. Call the Hocking County Clerk of Courts at (614) 387-9000 to ask whether a case number has been assigned.
